What does Grab Hire cost?

You will need to utilise our get a quote or bespoke quotation page to request an accurate quote, but the cost varies depending on the waste material being disposed of, how much we need to collect and the location of collection.

What's the grab crane reach?

Our grabs can reach around 7 metres from the vehicle position so you'll need to ensure that your waste for collection is within this distance of the lorry.

How much can one grab lorry take?

Depending on what material you are disposing of (e.g. it's respective weight) a grab lorry can take somewhere between 12 and 15 cubic metres of waste.

Does GrabLorry.com have all of the required permits & licenses?

Yes, GrabLorry.com works with A3 Waste Management Ltd and are fully Environment Agency approved, with a registeBlue waste carriers license.

I'm concerned about access - how big is a grab lorry?

We need at least 3.8 metres of headroom for the truck to enter and the crane needs a further 2 metres of clearance. We'd need at least 3 metres of width available across the entire entrance of your location to safely bring in one of our Grab Lorries.

There's a few obstructions - is this ok?

As long as we can safely position the vehicle and our driver can see the waste for collection, our grab lorries can collect over obstructions. You should contact us directly if you have any concerns.

I'm a busy person, what's the loading time?

If your waste is in an easy to reach location and collected together in one pile, it shouldn't take anymore than 10-30 minutes to load into the lorry.

Where should I position my waste for collection?

Consider the size of our vehicles and if they have easy access (width and height as above) and place your waste within 7 metres of the vehicle (ideally without obstruction but with line of sight to the vehicle).  Place well away from overhead cables, tree branches or other overhead obstruction and position the waste in a position that allows the vehicle to pull up alongside safely.

How quickly can you collect?

We can normally work within a 48 hour notice period but any quote and booking should be made with us directly through our website or booking form and you should have an email confirming your booking.

Is there anything you won't collect?

We won't collect any of the following items of waste:

  • Oil
  • Paint
  • Car Batteries
  • Asbestos
  • Hazardous Waste
  • Tyres
  • Gas bottles/canisters
  • Hazardous Chemicals
